Federal architecture is one most are familiar with, maybe not "Oh, look that's a perfect example of Federal Archictecture" more like, "I love the Smith's house." Federal architecture also spawned Federal furniture, the convex mirror for instance.

Dorothy Draper professionalized the interior design industry. Born in 1889, her style is still copied to this day.

This is not a term paper.
But, Hollywood Regency is very popular and fits in easily with many current styles. If you're more modern/contemporary or traditional; It's a way to inject color and create interest with furniture.

Working Girl

I can't remember where I learned it from, maybe an art teacher or probably my mom, but "working" from a picture provides loads of inspiration. Yes, definitely my mom, proven by the library of catalogued pictures she has ripped out of magazines. 

Well, I work backwards. I was browsing around eBay on Sunday and found a "vintage" mirror, BID. Yesterday, after I was the winner of a pair of jade foo dogs, I looked at my other bids. The vintage mirror had been loved by someone... loved, very hard. But, it's mine now and after seeing this picture this morning on mod in mind I think the vintage mirror will find a good home!
