Paper Your Walls

Wallpaper is not bad. Wallpaper can be very good. Many people fear wallpaper, probably commitment issues. Alas, the greatest invention since fingernail polish - temporary wallpaper.

pupppple.

nice neutral.

Dramatic art deco. This would be very cool in a small room-- bath, bar, guest room, or closet... if you're that awesome.

Another sneaky use for wallpaper is only doing a small portion of the wall. You could do an accent wall in paper and then paint the rest a color that is seen in the wallpaper. Or, if you have wainscotting - say in a dining room - you could paper the upper portion of wall and leave the panel/beneath the chair rail painted trim color.

Add dimension with grasscloth. Wonderful because of its texture. It's a solid without being boring, lots of slubs and color variation, but really beautiful when hung.

Grasscloth, in a bathroom.

Wallpaper as an accent wall -

Wallpaper within paneling. This is easily accomplished if you have a hammer, a right angle, some nails, glue, a margarita or two and a carpenter.

Wallpaper can be as edgy or as simple as you like...

Pretty funky.

Just pretty.

Reasoning

Possibly why I've been M.I.A. ...

This whole wedding planning thing is a wee-bit overwhelming. I've been very involved, yet very indecisive about this whole giant, life changing event! Why not use this as a bit of a bulletin board for my extreme ADD-ness. I haven't been able to pick colors.... that is what I do for a living and can't seem to grasp any sense of the rainbow for my bridesmaids. The bridesmaids' dresses will in their own way direct all color choices from here on out. I'm 6 months out, decisions must be made. My mind jumps around ( like you can't tell from these blog posts ) so here's a taste of what I've been throwing around to see if anything sticks. I'll start with flowers. I don't want to overwhelm y'all too! So I'll share with you my ideas over the next few days. Please anyone reading this feel free to offer some advice, I've never planned a wedding before!!

found it

All of the sudden, I've forgotten how to edit posts. It HAS been too long.

Here's the union jack rug from the rug company I referenced 4 seconds earlier.

And as a side note, editorial glitch, the "lux-u-ry" room scene features a rug for the rug company by Kelly Wearstler. Enjoy the rest of your day.

and... in the meantime

Here are some things and stuffs that have caught my eye over the recent weeks of complete radio silence - sorry, I've just been waiting for the new blog to get here. The anticipation is killing me!!!

gorgeous bedding from eastern accents, used in a master bedroom.

bold use of color - oranges, lime green, graphic black & white

bathroom tile, why not do something different. I'm ready to take some risks in the water closet (decorating risks, of course).

vivienne westwood pillow on the sofa, Union Jack. Also, she uses the faded Union Jack pattern as a rug for the Rug company.

see...here again, vivienne westwood's union jack.

lux-u-ry. green velvet. dark patterned walls. 478' ceilings, and look at that doorway.

Enough disjointed musings...I'll be back this week with some clarity.

The Better is Yet to Come!

Fabulous K Creative has been working very hard on redesigning Interioriented and I'm so excited for the big reveal. Poor thing had to go off my completely opaque (not clear) description of what I wanted for the blog. I told her I wanted Interior and Oriented to be seen as two words, but one word. Real clear, not.

But, I'm excited to say that her amazing talent was able to shine through my brain fog and come up with a perfectly executed solution that I cannot wait to share. In the meantime, see her other works here and get excited for the big reveal - and then I'll be back to blogging on my new format with a lot more frequency and schedulicity!!

Hoppy Easter!
