A Picture makes you want to buy 1,000 things.

Glossy magazines can make you want to buy and buy and buy. I love filling up an online shopping cart and fake buying everything in it. I get those emails a few days later that say 'Reminder! You have 97 items, are you ready to purchase?'
No, I'm not ready to purchase because I'm way too thrifty and cheapcheapcheap, but I wish I could. The picture above sent me on a shopping spree for chandeliers, this is what I "bought"...

$3,380, my credit card company would call me, laugh and then hang up.

And... Happy Monday.

interioriental.

Just to let everyone know I'm not hiding under the bed anticipating the satellite plummeting towards earth. I've been sidetracked (intently focused on) with projects. Projects which will be posted on here soon!

Currently I'm hung up on Asian influenced accessories, especially the Foo Dog. I'll have a pair for sale soon, more details to come.

Well, Fall's here. I am wearing UGGs and a fleece. Yesterday it was 90. This is not funny.

Fashion House

I came. I saw. I conquered ... what was left. I journeyed to Target today in anticipation of greatness from the Missoni Collection. Actually, on the way there I had butterflies in my stomach, anxious? about a sale? No, it was because I had 17 cups of coffee this morning to wake me up for a meeting at 8:30 a.m. I'm not too sweet before 9.
Arriving at 10:30, I walked into Target and saw A skirt, singular. The line that wrapped around the building pre-dawn came at the Missoni Collection like locusts. I was impressed at the racks being completely empty but not deterred, I headed to the shoes. I did get a pair, black suede pumps, I think they had blood on them from an early morning brawl, but I got them nonetheless. Onto bedding, a few magenta lime zig zag duvets leftover. Next, the home stuff. I found the set of 3 ceramic trays that I saw yesterday in Lonny. Very pleased with my purchases, I can't wait to put the shoes on and look at my trays.
With all of the Missoni buzz and New York Fashion Week tweets, I've been "attending" the fashion shows via pictures and blogposts. This is one of my favorite outfits seen on Bee from Atlantic-Pacific blog.

Skirt and blouse are both Marc Jacobs. Rust might be one of my favorite autumnal colors. If that outfit were a living room, this is what I think it'd look like...

Found.

Bar Cart in a myriad of beautiful colors at Society Social

It's $549, but if you have the extra pocket change...

This one is $439

$439 too.

$439 yet again.

The winner, coming in at $295. These would look awesome as a pair of side tables.

Board to death.

Hardwoods looking a little dull? Want to be impractical? Paint them!

It's not totally impractical, it definitely makes a statement. However, the upkeep - i.e. repainting scratches, scrapes and other booboos - might drive you crazy. Painting the floor does add lots of character and drama to a room, so it's worth considering for a second or two and perusing the pictures.

Sorry! and May I come in?

Short weeks always throw me for a loop. My apologies, back to blogging.

I've been wanting to do a post for a while about entrances. Whenever I drive through neighborhoods or am out walking the Bird, the first thing that I see is the door. An entrance can basically make or break a house. Here are a few winners.

MB, do these house numbers look familiar? And, a red front door is good feng shui (ancient Chinese system of aesthetics believed to use both the laws of Heaven and Earth to help one improve life by receiving positive qi or energy flow).

Little bit of Funk + Victorian

Fig leaf, something growing at the front door is also good feng shui ( completely made up, but the red door part is true )

Fancy wrought iron work.

Kind of a plain entrance, but the black and white marble check is even better than a red carpet.

Have a fantastic weekend! Back in full force Monday, I promise.
